When my friends observe me during my practice sessions they think I have gone mad as my speed is faster than their stop clock but little do they know that these energetic practices relax my brain and refresh me. I am the envy of my classmates as I can finish my 3 hr paper in almost 2 hrs. I am always fresh for my studies, sports and games after my brain gym exercises. People think that it is like an additional burden to our studies but they have to experience it to believe it that it takes me away from all tensions in this ever challenging world. we still remember the Saturday (almost two and a half years ago) when we took our daughter Vidushi Gupta to enroll her for the SIP Abacus Program. With no knowledge about the course and just a leaflet in hand we walked into the premises of DPS EOK, thinking that the programme was being run in school so must have positive results. Little did we know that our daughter was going in for a complete transformation. Today our almost 13 yr old daughter breathes, eats, sleeps and drinks Abacus. Believe me she is not a maniac but the program was like a recourse to her life where memorizing, retention, concentration and speed have overtaken. It is a wrong notion that the program is just related to math; in fact the skills of abacus are being used to utilize almost 90% of their brains. One reading of any lesson, whether it be Science, History or English is enough for her to remember the minutest details. Exams which are like a nightmare to students of her age are like a challenge to her. She has learnt the art of time management which allows her to be involved in various activities like Tae-kwon-do and Roller Hockey along with her studies. The Brain Gym exercises they learn during the program not only relaxes their mind and body but also provides them to get energetic again for the next work. My son Raghav Gupta studying in Std IV has successfully completed Grand Master, Level A from SIP Academy. We have introduced him to Abacus at the age of 5 years. We Indian women are often faced with the challenge in certain phases of our life, to determine how we need to modify our careers, given the responsibility of balancing our homes and work. I faced a similar challenge 3 years ago with two children and a family to takecare, but yet there was a yearning within to learn and to do domething that was stimulating and yet make an income. I was lucky to have a friend who knew about the concept of mental mathematics and SIP’s in promoting it in India. I soon was introuduced to the SIP management and within a week of meeting them I knew this was what I was looking for. I made a humble start and struggled to get my first batch. At the back of my mind always knew that I had to be patient and needed to concentrate on imparting the concept with quality and the rest would fall in line. My perseverance together with the support of SIP paid off and within 6 months I had 3 batches running. As they say, the proof of the pudding is in its eating, and as the parents of our children gradually saw a marked improvement in the concentration skills of their children, the word spread and within a year my center was teeming with children. I can very humbly say that today I have hired three CI to take care of the students that I have. Apart from the tangible income that accrues there are many benefits that come together as a package. The appreciation of the students and parents cannot be explained in words and believe me they come pouring in if you do a good job. We develop the ability to understand the psyche of the children and customize the way we coach, always learning in the process. We also learn to manage the expectations of parents across the social strata, and in the process discuss and debate children’s personalities which enable us to get better with every passing month. Another aspect which deserves special mention for us Indian women is the confidence that it generates within. The confidence could be due to the difference we might be making in the child’s life, or the fact that we can stand in front of multiple people and speak with aplomb (public speaking) and in many cases the self generated income or it could be all together. The effect of all these aspects rubs off in our family lives and I at least have learnt to manage my worklife balance better. I am really happy to know that my centre has got the maximum number of children being trained for SIP Abacus programme in the country. April 2005, when I started the Franchisee in Thiruvanthapuram nobody really knew about this program. In the beginning it was very difficult to convince people. But my long standing experience in the field of education helped me to convince the parents. But now the scenarios have changed and practically all the parents know about the Abacus Program and its benefits. The company gives me excellent support. Hi everyone! I joined SIP academy and started my centre in Delhi in Oct 2005. I started slow as at that time awareness about abacus was very low but slowly students at my centre started to outshine their school friends and my centre picked up. Now I have around 100 students at my centre. My first batch of students have already finished their I levels and are doing their grand masters which is a great achievement for them as well as for me. I enjoy every moment of being with the kids, time just flies by when I am with them. Not for one minute I regret leaving my full time job. I have some very nice thoughts to share with you i.e my ‘experience’….. Five years before, I was completely engaged in a job working for others, putting endless hours, struggling to meet both the ends and working hard for ‘ others’ to make profit. Today, I am a ‘parent’ turned independent and successful woman entrepreneur having two branches and running a profitable business. All smiles, but this did not come overnight!! Of course, after a long struggle! And this time the struggle was for myself!! Now, the ‘real’ Story. With due respect and all gratitude to my good friend who instigated me to run my own centre during mid of 2005, I had taken the teachers’ training on Abacus and Brain Gym. With a little capital and also again with a great help of my friend, I had started my own Abacus Centre in the Bansdroni and later moved on to posses on more Centre at Naktala. Now, I can understand the intricacies of the business and am fully engaged in educational activities keeping the small children in mind, whom I always love. I am a ‘teacher’ with different mindset. I always concentrate/focus on the children with less aptitude. I deploy my complete knowledge and struggle to bring up the children who are ‘slow learners’. It is matter of time for anyone, who put up their hard work and with a focused mind, to come on to a successful field. Today, I have nearly 200 students taking both centre together getting benefitted from SIP Abacus and Brain Gym training and have lots of satisfied parents backing me all the time.
